About Processor Boards

Each controller requires one or more processor boards that are installed in the VME chassis. Each
processor board includes at least one CPU (core).

Core functions

Each core performs predefined CPU functions such as, Supervisor (SUP), Digital Signal Processing
(DSP), and Time History Playback (THP). The function(s) assigned to each core depends on the
number of processor boards and the types of options installed.

One processor board

The single core performs SUP and DSP functions.
