Controlling an External Recorder’s Video Record Start/Stop from the VR-6HD

By connecting a recorder that supports REC control functionality, you can start/stop a recorder (external REC control functionality) from the VR-6HD.

Setting

Assigning a USER button

To use the external REC control function, you must assign the recorder’s

video recording start/stop functions to a USER button on the dashboard.

Follow the steps in “Using the dashboard” (p. 84) to assign

the “EXTERNAL REC CONTROL” function to a USER button on

the dashboard.

“VIDEO OUT 1–3”, set “EXTERNAL REC CONTROL” to “ON”.

Operation

Touch a USER button on the dashboard to which the

recording start/stop function has been assigned.

Each time you touch the button, the recorder switches between video

record start/stop.

* This example shows the function assigned to USER button 1.

NOTE

The lights of the USER buttons on the dashboard show the status of

the VR-6HD, and are not linked with the recorder’s status.
For instance, if the recorder stops recording for some reason while

the USER buttons are lit, these buttons do not automatically go dark

in response.
