You can protect an important file. A protected
file is marked with the (protect) indicator
and is regarded as a read-only file that you
cannot erase or edit.
1 Select the recorded file that you
want to protect from the HOME
menu (
page 25 ).
2 While playback is in progress or on
standby, press the OPTION button
to display the OPTION menu, select
“Protect,” and then press the

button.
The file is protected.
To release the protection
In step 2, select “Do Not Protect” on the
OPTION menu and then press the
 button.
