Symptom

Cause/Solution

Playback speed is too fast or too
slow.

• “DPC(Speed Control)” on the menu is effective and the linear

PCM recorder plays at the specified playback speed. Set
“DPC(Speed Control)” to “OFF,” or adjust the playback speed
appropriately (page 50).

You cannot play a file.

• Files other than those the linear PCM recorder supports may not

be played back. For details, see the specifications (page 86).

You cannot delete a file.

• When using the SD card, the write-protect switch on the card is

placed in the “LOCK” position. Release the write-protect setting.

• When you use a Windows computer, the file or the folder

containing the file is set to “Read-only” on the computer.
Display the file or the folder using Windows Explorer and
remove the check for “Read-only” under “Properties.”

• When you use a Mac computer, the file or the folder containing

the file is set to “Locked” on the computer. Display the file or the
folder on Mac Finder and remove the check for “Locked” under
“GetInfo” of “File.”

• The remaining battery power is insufficient. Replace the

batteries with new ones (page 19).

• The file is protected. Reset the protection setting.

You cannot divide a file.

• You need a certain amount of free space in the memory to

divide a file.

• 199 files have been recorded in the selected folder. Delete some

of the files or select another folder.

• Because of the system limitations, you may not be able to

divide a file at the very beginning or at the very end of the file.

• You cannot divide files other than those recorded using the

linear PCM recorder (e.g., a file transferred from a computer).

• You cannot divide a protected file. To divide the file, release the

protection first.

You cannot move a file.

• You cannot move a protected file. To move the file, release the

protection first.

• You cannot move or copy the files managed under “ Music.”
