Finding out causes/solutions from symptoms (continued)

Symptom

Cause/Solution

The SD card is not recognized.

• Since the SD card may contain image data or other files, the

memory required for creating initial folders is insufficient.
Use a tool, such as Windows Explorer or Mac Finder, to delete
unnecessary files or initialize the SD card on the linear PCM
recorder.

• Select “Recording Folder” and then select “SD Card” on the

Memory Selection screen (page 37).

Power

Symptom

The linear PCM recorder does not
turn on or operate.

• The batteries have been inserted with the

facing in the

incorrect direction. Reinsert them correctly (page 19).

• The batteries have run out. Replace them with new ones (page

19).

• The buttons are locked with the HOLD switch. Slide the HOLD

switch to “OFF” (page 26).

• The POWER switch is placed in the “OFF” position. Slide it to

“ON.”

Playback

Symptom

Cause/Solution

No sound comes out from the built-
in speaker.

• A device is connected to the headphones or LINE OUT jack.

Remove the device.

• While the linear PCM recorder is connected with a Bluetooth

audio device, no sound comes out from the built-in speaker.
Disconnect the Bluetooth connection (page 52).

No sound comes out from the
connected headphones.

• While the linear PCM recorder is connected with a Bluetooth

audio device, no sound comes out from the connected
headphones.
Disconnect the Bluetooth connection (page 52).

No sound comes out from the
connected Bluetooth audio device.

• While an external device is connected to the LINE OUT jack,

no sound comes out from the audio device via a Bluetooth
connection. Unplug the device from the LINE OUT jack.

• You cannot monitor the recording in progress on the linear

PCM recorder through the Bluetooth audio device. Use the
headphones connected to the

(headphones) jack on the

linear PCM recorder for monitoring.

Sound comes out from the built-in
speaker even when headphones are
plugged in.

• If you plug in the headphones not securely during playback,

the sound may come out from the speaker. Unplug the
headphones, and then plug them back securely.
