Performing Preventive Maintenance

The UPS requires very little preventive maintenance. However, the UPS should be

inspected periodically to verify that the unit is operating normally.

Perform the following checks DAILY:

Check the area surrounding the UPS and environmental cabinet. Ensure the

area is not cluttered, allowing free access to the unit.

Ensure the air intakes (filters on right side of Environmental Cabinet) and

exhaust openings (on top of the UPS cabinet) are not blocked.

Ensure there is at least six inches of clearance behind the unit for proper air

circulation.

Ensure the operating environment is within the parameters specified in the

Product Specifications section of Chapter 16.

Ensure the UPS is in Normal mode (Normal status indicator is lit). If an alarm

lamp is lit or the Normal status indicator is not lit, contact Customer Support.

Perform the following checks MONTHLY:

Ensure all status indicator lamps are operative. (Press the

and

pushbuttons simultaneously to test the lamps.)

Monitor system parameters as described in Chapter 9, “Using the Monitor

Panel”.

Record the results of your checks and any corrective actions in a suitable log.

ANNUAL maintenance:
Annual preventive maintenance should be performed only by authorized service

personnel familiar with maintenance and servicing of the UPS system. Contact

your nearest field service office for more information about service offerings.

FILTER maintenance:
Pleated disposable filters, installed inside of three filter assemblies located on the

right side of the Environmental cabinet, eliminate particles from the air which is

used to cool the UPS system. Filters should be checked or replaced at least every

thirty days in a clean environment, and at least every seven days in a dirty

environment. The replaceable filter size is 20 inches x 20 inches x 1 inch with an

ASHRAE rating of 52.2. An AmAir 62 Plus meet these requirements. To remove

filters:

1.

Loosen captive screw at left side of filter grill.

2.

Open grill.

3.

Remove and replace filter.

4.

Close filter grill and secure with captive screw.
