B.2 Remote Unit Download

From the Main Menu, select Upgrade Software and enter 'Y' when prompted by the Upgrade Software in the remote unit
message. The software located in the FLASH memory will be transferred to the remote 3240S over the active fiber optic link
and will then be verified for any error that might have happened during the transfer. The remote unit will then overwrite the
code in its FLASH memory with the new software it received, and reboot. Provided that the two 3240Ss are connected
properly and powered up, the user PC will show the following messages while the different steps are in progress.

- instead of -

This means that the 3240S cannot communicate with the remote 3240S and that the software transfer to the remote unit has
been aborted. This could be caused by a fiber link failure - verify sync status on the System/Configuration/Status screen.
