4.5 Network Management Log-in
With the serial port properly connected to a terminal, powering up the 3240S or resetting the management module will cause
a series of decompressing messages to scroll down the monitor screen. Reference Figure 4-2.
The following screens will appear upon powerup:
•
Power-On Self Test (POST) - This is the opening screen regardless of system configuration.
•
BOOTP in Progress (Press 'Esc' to terminate) - This will be the next screen if BOOTP is enabled.
•
Enter Log In Password prompt - This will be the next screen if a password has been configured.
•
If BOOTP has not previously been enabled, the main meu screen will appear after the proper password has been
entered (if a user interface password has been configured). If you are entering the user interface via a modem, you
will also be required to enter the Modem password prior to accessing the Management Interface.
