4.3.3 Network Management Module Setup
The steps to set up of the SNMP Management Module (NMS) are as follows:
• Designate and set Time Slot jumpers on interface cards.
• Set Configuration Switches (e.g., line buildout, line coding) on interface cards, as required.
• Set Configuration Switches on Main Board (rear panel Master/Slave, Optics HI/LO Power), as required.
• Set all system and I/O Port loopback switches to NOR.
• If equipped with redundant optics, set the PRI/AUTO/SEC Switch to AUTO.
• Set the DTE/DCE Switch on the SNMP Management Module to the required setting. If the device you are connecting
to the 3240S is a modem, this switch is set to DCE. If the device being connected to the 3240S is a PC or terminal, this
switch needs to be set to DTE. Plug in your EIA-232 cable, male/male straight-thru to the NMS Module.
