4.9.1.2 Auto/Manual Mode Switch

To change the Redundant Optics' mode of operation, PRI/AUTO/SEC, select '2', or Optic Redundancy Control, then 'Enter'
from the System Configuration/Status screen. The Optic Redundancy Control Screen will detail the current status and list
options as referenced in Figure 4-21.

To clear an alarm condition, or reset the Fault Relay (Alarm Relay for Non-redundant optic Systems):

Switch from the AUTO mode to Manual Primary, or Secondary.

Switch back to Auto Mode.

To switch to Manual Primary select '2' or Switch to Manual Primary, then 'Enter' from the Optical Redundancy
Control menu. Repeat with selection '1' or Restore Auto Mode, then 'Enter' to return to Auto.

Reference Figure 4-22.

Resetting an alarm condition can be easily accomplished via the NMS, however it is usually easier to
reset the alarm condition manually. See Chapter 2, Section 2.4.4, To Clear an Alarm Condition.
