4.8.6 SLIP Configuration
To set the SLIP (Serial Line Internet Protocol) Configuration select '7' then 'Enter' from the SNMP Agent Configuration Menu.
The SLIP Configuration Menu will appear as referenced in Figure 4-15. The current IP Address entered for the SLIP Configu-
ration will be referenced. If this address is not correct, select '1' to change it. If this IP Address is correct, you may enter the
SLIP Mode by selecting '2' via a dial-up start program such as Windows 95/98/NT.
4.8.6.1 IP Address for SLIP
To set an IP address for SLIP select '1' then 'Enter' from the SLIP configuration menu. The SLIP IP address must be on a
different network than the Ethernet IP address. The SLIP IP address is then set for the interface and saved in non-volatile
RAM. Since SLIP runs point to point, the SLIP subnet mask will be assumed from the Class type of the IP address, and no
gateway is allowed. Reference Figure 4-15.
