Functions of the machine

B.2.1 Functional of the machine

Fig.2

The CLOSING SEAM MACHINE 1282-4 allows the con-
tour-identical sewing of front and rear trousers compon-
ents in side and crotch seams. The side seam can be sewn
with a braid pocket, a wing pocket or a pocket that is in-
tegrated to the side seam.

NOTE - Possible applications!

The CLOSING SEAM MACHINE 1282-4 has been desi-
gned predominantly for the sewing of trousers compon-
ents. Therefore, the operation of the machine is descri-
bed in these instructions using trousers components as
examples.
However, the machine can also be used for processing
other sewing pieces, e.g. sleeves, rear seams of jackets
etc. The prerequisite for the correct function is always that
the length of the sewing pieces does not exceed the clear
distance between the sewing head and the start position
of the guide clamp and that the width of the sewing pie-
ces does not exceed the distance between guide rail and
worktable front edge.

Machine cycle:
Insertion process and machine cycle are effected from left

Top and bottom transport element of the sewing unit
and the puller transport the sewing pieces to the se-
wing unit to be tucked and from there to the stacker.

During the sewing process, the automatic contour guide
controls the routing of the seam.

B.2.2 Lining up/aligning trousers components

Fig. 2

The front and rear trousers components are placed onto
one another with flush seams. The sequence for lining up
the trousers components depends on the seam to be
effected:

For sewing the crotch seam, the rear component is
below, the front component is up. For sewing the side
seams of these trousers components, the rear com-
ponent is up, the front component is below.

For sewing the right trousers components, the se-
quence is inversed.

The two trousers components

are inserted, with the

hip side oriented toward the sewing unit

, into the

guide clamp

where they are secured with the needle.

If equipped with the optional cloth transfer machine com-
ponent, the trousers components ends are inserted at the
cloth transfer station where they are transferred to the gui-
de clamp and secured.
Then, the two trousers components are aligned with the
contour guide

and lined up at the stop of the sewing

unit
