Bandwidth is 1.2 MHz and C-Band RX Center frequency is 3.7285 GHz, de-
fine the beginning and end of the Space Segment in IF by determining where
it lies on the transponder with the following formulas:
Transponder RX Center – RX Center = Offset below Transponder RX Center
or
RX Center – transponder RX Center = Offset above Transponder RX Center
Since RX Center is above the Transponder Center it would be:
3.7285 GHz – 3.720 GHz = 8.5 MHz above transponder Center
Add (or subtract) this offset from the IF Center (70 MHz) to find the RX Cen-
ter IF Frequency:
70 MHz + 8.5 MHz = 78.5 MHz
Bandwidth = 1.2 MHz , the beginning and end of your space segment is found
by the following formula:
RX IF Center – 1/2 bandwidth = Space Segment Beginning IF
RX IF Center + 1/2 MHz = Space Segment Ending IF
78.5 MHz – 0.6 MHz = 77.9 MHz
78.5 MHz + 0.6 MHz = 79.1 MHz
1. Select Space Segment, view IF.
2. Right click on any area (yellow area) in Free Space.
3. Select Add Bandwidth.
4. Select
IF.
5. Add Start 77.900000 and End 79.100000.
6. Close Space Segment window.
7. Observe Close Channel window is displayed.
