Managing FC ping tasks

VFM allows you to FC ping a destination to test network connectivity. You can manage (such as add,
delete, and modify) FC ping tasks in VFM.

Accessing the FC ping task list

1.

Click the Service tab.

2.

From the navigation tree, select VAN Fabric Manager > SAN Configuration > Fabric
Management.
The Fabric Management page appears.

3.

In the fabric resources tree on the page, select Fabric Management > Fabric name > VSAN name >
FC Ping.
The FC ping task list appears in the right pane.

Run—Click this button to execute FC ping tasks immediately (see "

Suspend—Click this button to suspend the FC ping tasks that you do not need to run (see

FC ping task list columns

{

Status-Operation Result—Status and operation result of the FC ping task. Options for Status
are All, Waiting for Execution, Executing, Suspending, Suspended, Finished, and Expired.

Options for Operation Result are All, Succeeded, Failed, Partially Succeeded, and Unfinished.

Task Name—Name of the FC ping task.

Source Device—Name of the source device for the FC ping task. By default, this field displays
the device label and device IP address. The device label is assigned in the IMC Platform. The

device IP address is the IP address used when the device was added to the IMC Platform.

Destination Device—Name of the destination device for the FC ping task. By default, this field
displays the device label and device IP address. The device label is assigned in the IMC

Platform. The device IP address is the IP address used when the device was added to the IMC

Platform.

Schedule Type—Schedule type of the FC ping task. Options are Once and Cycle.

Creation Time—Time when the FC ping task was created.
