Enabling or Disabling the Management ACL

This procedure enables and disables the management ACL. When the
management ACL is enabled, remote Telnet and web browser
management of the switch is restricted to just those management stations
specified by the access control entries in the ACL. When the feature is
disabled, any remote management workstation can access the switch.

Note

Do not activate the management ACL until you have specified the
access control entries (ACEs). Otherwise, it will be impossible to
remotely manage the unit from a Telnet or web browser
management session because the switch will discard all remote
management packets. For instructions on how to add ACEs, refer to
“Creating an ACE” on page 402.

To enable or disable the management ACL, perform the following
procedure:

1. From the home page, select Configuration.

2. From the Configuration menu, select the Mgmt. Security option.

3. Select the Mgmt. ACL tab.

The tab is shown in Figure 164.
