Encoder Output Configuration Tab

The Output Configuration Tab allows you to configure the encoder output protocols. Note that
not all protocols are available for all compression standards, as indicated in the table below. The
table also indicates which protocols have MPTS mux support.

The Output Protocol selection is displayed below. The actual choices offered will depend on the
compression standard.

o

ASI/IP Streaming:

the output of the encoder is available for connection to ASI

Outputs and IP Outputs, as described later in this manual.

o

RIST:

the encoder will transmit RTP streams compliant with the Reliable Internet

Stream Transport, and will accept retransmission requests as per VSF TR-06-1.

o

HLS:

the encoder will operate in HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) mode. It can push

content to an external server, or it can publish content to an internal web server.

o

RTMP:

the encoder will operate as an RTMP client, connect to a specified RTMP

server and publish the stream, similar to the Adobe Flash® Live Media Encoder
(FMLE). If this is selected, a number of parameters in the Encoder Configuration
tabs will either disappear or become grayed out.

The options displayed will change according to the protocol.

Output Tab–ASI/IP Streaming

The figure below shows the configuration options in ASI/IP Streaming mode. The list of ports
offered for connection always includes the encoder’s ASI outputs, and will include however
many IP Outputs created in the
