Audio Configuration Advanced Tab – Dolby Pass-Through

Since Dolby Pass-Through is pre-encoded, the audio level controls are not available. The only
specific control is:

Dolby PMT Type:

this parameter controls how Dolby AC-3/EAC-3 audio is signaled in

the PMT. The two choices are:

o

DVB:

Dolby Audio is signaled as per ETSI TS 101 154 Appendix C (stream_type

0x06 with the AC-3 or EAC-3 Descriptor from EN 300 468 annex D).

o

ATSC:

Dolby Audio is signaled as per ATSC A/53 Part 3 (stream_type 0x81 for

AC-3 and 0x87 for EAC-3). However, the 9992-ENC is currently unable to
generate the ATSC AC-3 Descriptor; please contact Cobalt Digital if this is an
issue in your network.

The Apply/Cancel Buttons

The

Apply/Cancel

buttons are available at the bottom of the

Basic

,

Advanced

, and

Output

tabs,

as well as every Audio

Basic

and

Advanced

tabs. These are not separate buttons – they are

multiple instances of the same buttons, repeated on each screen for convenience. If no changes
have been made to the settings, the

Apply/Cancel

buttons are grayed out; once any changes are

made, they become available. Changes do not take effect until the

Apply

button is pressed. If

you make changes but decide not to apply them, click on the

Cancel

button and the user

interface reverts to where it was before. Once you click on the

Apply

button, the changes are

implemented.

Configuration Changed

In general, most changes will cause the encoder channel to stop and start again, causing a brief
(2-second) interruption to the stream. Changes to the following parameters are implemented on-
the-fly, without stopping the encoder:

Loss of Video Action and Flat Field settings in Basic Tab–Encoder Configuration.

Any VBI/Ancillary data changes in Advanced Tab–VBI/Ancillary Data Insertion, with
the exception of enabling/disabling SMPTE-2038 or changing the SMTPE-2038 data
rate.

Audio Group, Channel, and Language Code in Audio Configuration Basic Tab –
Common Parameters.

Audio Gain and Audio Type in Audio Configuration Advanced Tab – Common
Parameters.

Transport Stream ID in Advanced Tab – Mux Parameters.
