Connect:

This parameter controls whether or not the encoder should actually establish a

connection with the server. If you set this parameter to

No

, the encoder will run but no

data will be transmitted. This is useful to pre-configure a session, and turn it on later
when it comes the time to broadcast.

Some CDNs only accept frame rates up to 30 fps and prefer progressive content. The 9992-ENC
can convert any input signal to progressive at a lower bit rate (see Basic Tab–Encoder
Configuration).

In RTMP Mode, the 9992-ENC will force Closed GOP operation (see Advanced Tab–Common
Video Parameters)
.

Encoder Audio Configuration Tabs

Due to DashBoard limitations, audio configuration for each of the encoder channels is on a
separate top tab. Each tab can contain up to two audio channels. These tabs automatically
appear or disappear depending on the number of configured audio channels (see Basic Tab–
Audio Parameters). T
his is illustrated below.

In this section, an “audio channel” is the same as an “audio PID”, and it can be mono, stereo, or a
5.1 surround channel. The capabilities of the 9992-ENC are:

Up to 16 total embedded audio pairs per card.

Up to 8 total embedded audio pairs per video input.

Up to 8 audio PIDs per encoder channel.

Note that a 5.1 Surround channel uses three embedded audio pairs.

The audio configuration tab is divided into two lower tabs, whose appearance is a function of the
audio encoding standard. The 9992-ENC allows for any desired mix of audio encoding
standards. The two lower tabs are the

Basic

tab, for the more common audio parameters, and the

Advanced

tab, for the audio advanced configuration parameters.

Audio Configuration Basic Tab

The appearance of the audio configuration basic tab is a function of the encoding standard, but
some parts of it are common to all standards.
