5 Troubleshooting XP LUN Configuration
and Security Manager Software

Troubleshooting

For troubleshooting information on the array, see the array's documentation.

You are responsible for the operation and normal maintenance of the XP Command View Advanced
Edition Software computer or XP Remote Web Console. The following are some guidelines for
troubleshooting the XP Command View Advanced Edition Software computer or XP Remote Web
Console:

Check the cabling and LAN: Verify that both the computer and LAN cabling are firmly attached,
and the LAN is operating properly.

Reboot the computer: Close any programs that are not responding. If necessary, reboot the computer
and restart the XP Command View Advanced Edition Software Java applet program.

Check for any general error conditions:

Check the status lamp on the XP Command View Advanced Edition Software or XP Remote Web

Console main pane: If the color of the lamp is yellow (

or the HP StorageWorks XP Remote Web Console

Download the XP Command View Advanced Edition Software or XP Remote Web Console trace
files using the FD Dump Tool: If you cannot resolve an error condition, copy the XP Command
View Advanced Edition Software or XP Remote Web Console configuration information onto
floppy disks using the FD Dump Tool (see the HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced
Edition Software user guide for XP Disk Arrays
or the HP StorageWorks XP Remote Web Console
user guide for XP12000/XP10000 Disk Arrays and SVS 200

browsers. If in doubt, exit and restart the browsers.
