NOTE: Normally, the desired departure airport will already be displayed
with the cursor on it. In case it is not, move the cursor over the desired
airport or, if necessary, enter the airport identifier in the blank field on the
page and press

F once to bring up the waypoint page for the airport

and a second time to approve it. If an airport is entered that doesn’t have
a DP the scratchpad message No DP at APT will be displayed.

4.

Press

F to bring up the APT 7

page for KSFO which displays a
list of DPs for KSFO. At the time
of this writing there are 11 DPs
for KSFO. Rotate the right outer
knob until the cursor is over
PORTE3 (figure 6-60). With the
cursor over PORTE3, press

F.

5.

The KLN 94 will now ask which
runway that you will be using.
For this example select RW01B
(figure 6-61) and press

F. The

B” stands for “Both” so selecting RW01B means it is applicable to
runways 1L and 1R.

6.

The last bit of information need-
ed to define this DP is the
transition. This example uses the
Fellows transition. To select the
Fellows transition, move the cur-
sor down to FLW (figure 6-62)
and press

F.

7.

The KLN 94 now presents a list
of waypoints that make up the
DP (figure 6-63). Review these
waypoints if desired. If the way-
points look correct then press

F with the cursor over ADD
TO FPL 0?
to load the DP into
the active flight plan.

8.

The KLN 94 will then add the DP
procedure after the airport refer-
ence point in the active flight
plan (figure 6-64). If the airport reference point is not included in the
active flight plan, then the KLN 94 will ask to add this waypoint to the
active flight plan.

Section 6.3.4 gives the actions required to fly this DP.
