APPENDIX C - SCRATCHPAD MESSAGES

Active
Wpt
- (Active Waypoint) Appears when you attempt to delete a user-
defined waypoint on the AUX 12 page if the waypoint is the active
waypoint (the waypoint you are navigating to). Another waypoint must be
made the active waypoint before this waypoint can be deleted from the
user-defined waypoint list.

D Base
Expired
- (Database Expired) Appears whenever the pilot attempts to
select an approach from the database on the APT 8 or ACT 8 page and
the database has expired.

∂∆

CRS

XXX° - (Direct To Course XXX°) Appears when the KLN 94 is in the OBS
mode and is interfaced with an external indicator for which the KLN 94
cannot change the selected course and the pilot performs a Direct To
operation. Since the KLN 94 cannot change the selected course to the
direct to course, the KLN 94 gives you this message telling you the OBS
value that will take the aircraft direct to the active waypoint.

Dup
Ident
- (Duplicate Identifier) Appears when you select a waypoint identifier
on one of the waypoint type pages if there is more than one waypoint of
that waypoint type having the same identifier.

Freq To NAV X - (frequency to navigation receiver X) Appears when a
KLN 94 is configured for QuickTune

TM

operation and an approach is

loaded into the active flight plan. The approach frequency is sent to the
standby window of the navigation receiver (KX 155A or KX 165A). The
approach frequency must be a valid VHF navigation frequency (108.00
MHz - 117.95 MHz) associated with a VOR or localizer-type approach.
“X” is the number of the receiver (e.g. NAV 1 is navigation receiver #1)
where the frequency has been sent to.

Fpl Is
Full
- (Flight Plan is Full) Appears when an attempt is made to add a new
waypoint to the active flight plan (FPL 0) when it already contains 20 way-
points and the first waypoint is part of the active leg. Change the active
waypoint or delete another waypoint before adding any more waypoints.

Invalid
Add
- (Invalid Add) Appears when an attempt is made to add a new way-
point into the approach. Approach procedures must be flown as they are
stored in the database.
