Terminal Function

AutoID Navigator has a "terminal function" for verifying whether or not transmission and reception
of data with each device is normal. Using this "terminal function" allows you to display data read by
the RF-500 Series or code reader on the personal computer for verification, or send commands.

Terminal Function Screen

The following describes operations in the terminal function screen.
The terminal function is started up by clicking

Item

Description

Target:

Select the device to be tested from the pulldown menu.
* This item is not displayed when no devices are connected or the device does

not support AutoID Navigator.

Edit message

Enter the command to be sent in the "Send command" field. Also, select
"Header/delimiter" and "Format" from the pulldown menu to suit the device to
perform data transactions with.
* Command files (**.cmd) can also be read by clicking the "Open" button.

Check command

Displays the edited command together with "Header/delimiter" and "Format"
specified at "Check command". Clicking the "Send" button sends the
message.

"LON" button

Sends the timing ON command.

"LOFF" button

Sends the timing OFF command.

"M*" button

Sends the active macro command.

"QT" button

Sends the trigger OFF command.

Log display area

Displays the content and macros of sent and received data.

"Full screen" button

Maximizes the terminal screen to display it over the entire screen.

"Save log" button

Saves a command or data to be sent or received in a CSV file. Click this
button before receiving data. When a log file is saved, the subsequence
communications trace can be saved to the file if you mark the "Add" checkbox
beforehand under Options.

"Clear buffer" button

Clears the content displayed in the log display area.
