Green-solid

Equipment is OK,

regardless of

network connection.

Not Used.

A normal signal is

being received from

the network (all OK).

Green-flashing

Not used.

Thumbwheel switch

operator is accessing

the CSU at the node

controller.

Not used.

Amber-solid

SCC is looped toward

the equipment (RLB

or ELB) and no errors

are being received.

CSU receiving APS

switch code.

SCC is looped toward

network via an LLB or

PLB and no errors are

received from the

network.

Amber-flashing

Not used.

CSU is applying a test

signal to the circuit.

Not used.

Red-solid

Any continuous error

condition (for

example, LOS, LOF,

AIS).

Any alarm.

Continuous errors on

the network (LOS,

LOF, RAI, AIS).

Red-flashing

BPV or CRC-6 Error,

low density indicator.

Update speed: 50-

100 m/s.

Power-up self test

failure.

BPV or CRC-6 errors.

Green-Amber

alternating

Switched to

protection line.

Good signal is being

received, but CSU is

receiving the same

APS net code it is

sending (unless the

NET LED is flashing

green-amber also).

This could be from a

loopback, not

initializing the

system, or this

working line has

gone bad and

switched to the spare

line.

CSU receiving a

clean, spurious

signal (there are no

net codes in the

received signal).

Red-Amber

SCC is looped toward

the equipment (RLB,

ELB) and errors are

being received from

the equipment.

Errors received

during user-initiated

test.

CSU is looped toward

the network (LLB,

PLB) and errors are

being received (BPV

or CRC-6).

None illuminated

SCC is not powered

up or has lost power.

Self test failure.

All OK.

No power to SCC.
