NV920

The NV920 has 3 Ethernet ports, named “NVNET1,” “NVNET2,” and “NVNET3.” By default,
these ports are:

You can change these IP addresses. You may connect your PC to any of the 3 ports. It must
be on the same subnet as the port to which you connect.

The other two ports can be assigned to panels, routes, and master control as you require.

IP Addresses for Routers

A certain range of addresses is allocated for router control cards. IP addresses for router control
cards range from 192.168.1.5 to 192.168.1.40 or from 5 to 40 on whatever network they are
assigned.

This is the default range which is designed to avoid conflict with the default DHCP ranges of IP
addresses. Your system can use other ranges.

IP Addresses for Control Panels

The system controller uses DHCP to determine the IP addresses of control panels. No other
devices should be assigned IP addresses in the range used for DHCP.

IP addresses for control panels are divided into two pools:

Primary pool

192.168.1.41 through 192.168.1.150 or from 41 to 150 on whatever network

they are assigned.

Secondary or redundant pool

192.168.1.151 through 192.168.1.254 from 151 to 254 on

whatever network they are assigned.

The primary pool is used by the primary controller of a redundant pair and the secondary pool is
used by the secondary controller.

Licenses

Licensed options (such as DHP) must be “activated” to be used. Customers must purchase a
license “key” to activate an option.

NV9000-SE Utilities lists licenses for an installed system controller in the ‘System Management’
page.

DHP

DHP (dynamic hybrid pathfinding) is an NV9000 option that allows NV8500 family hybrid
routers to perform hybrid routing with relatively few hybrid cards. With DHP, the router passes
standard inputs through an internal pool of hybrid disembedder cards and embedder cards
after which the audio from the standard inputs can be recombined and re-embedded on
output.
