Devices and Device Categories
Category Details Table
Filters
At the top of the page are 2 filters:
•
Category Filter. If you enter text in this field, the list of devices is restricted to those devices
whose category names contain the text you entered.
•
Device Filter. If you enter text in this field, the list of devices is restricted to those devices
whose names contain the text you entered.
Device List
The device list has 11 columns, 8 of which are for device suffixes. These are the first 3 columns:
•
Category. Fields in this column show the categories to which the devices belong.
•
Device. These are the names of the devices that belong to at least one of the displayed cate-
gories.
•
Index. When a category is created, the devices assigned to the category are indexed. These
are the indexes for the devices within a category.
The 8 suffix fields contain suffixes that have been assigned to the devices. (Suffixes are text
strings of up to 4 characters.) Many of the suffix fields are blank, meaning that they are not used.
Use click, shift-click, and control-click techniques to select any set of the devices in the list.
Buttons
At the bottom of the page are 6 buttons:

Add
Click ‘Add’ to add a device to the device list. NV9000-SE Utilities creates a new row at the bot-
tom of the list in which you can enter a device name, category name, and index and suffix
field values for the new device.
The ‘Category’, ‘Device’, and ‘Suffix’ fields all have drop-down lists from which to choose an
entry. The ‘Index’ field has a numeric entry box.
•
Delete
Select one or more rows in the ‘Category Details’ table and click ‘Delete’ to remove those cat-
egories from the table.
NV9000-SE Utilities deletes the selected rows immediately without any warning dialog.

Edit
Select one or more devices in the ‘Category Details’ table and click ‘Edit’ to open a device
details page for each of the selected devices.

Save
Click ‘Save’ to commit (make permanent) the changes you have made in the page.
•
Revert to Saved
Click ‘Revert to Saved’ to restore the saved list of categories, discarding any changes you
have made (since the last save).
