System Management
Summary
If you have selected a control system on the left, the tables show general system information
and the buttons allow you to read and write configurations and to start and stop the system
controllers.
The system management pane does not provide access to configuration data, but lists the
control systems in your NV9000 system that you have identified:

You can select any system controller in this pane to review its status, to start or stop the system
controller, or to perform maintenance tasks.
Figure 5-1 shows two system controllers ‘SYS D’ and ‘SYS G’. Next to the name of each system
controller, separated by a colon (:), is the name of the configuration it uses.
Figure 5-1 shows SYS G expanded, revealing several folder icons: ‘System Log’, ‘Routers’, ‘Control
Panels’, and ‘Tieline Status’. Figure 5-1 shows that SYS D is not expanded. To expand the view of a
system controller, click the “+” next to the system controller’s icon. To collapse the view of a
system controller, click the “–” next its icon.
The color of a system controller’s icon gives a rough indication of its state:
Clicking any entry in the system management pane causes a status and control page to appear
in the work area:

Click a system controller to view a page in which you can start, stop, or restart a system con-
troller.
•
Clicking a ‘System Log’ folder causes the system log page for the applicable system controller
to appear.
•
Clicking a ‘Control Panels’ folder causes a control panels page for the applicable system con-
troller to appear.
•
Clicking a ‘Tieline Status’ folder causes a tieline status page for the applicable system control-
ler to appear. This is a graphical representation of tielines defined in your configuration. The

Green: the controller is connected (to your PC) and healthy.
Yellow: the controller is connected (to your PC) but is not healthy. Nevertheless, it is
capable of responding to NV9000-SE Utilities on your PC).
Red: the controller is not connected to your PC or is not functioning.
