NV9647 Panel Description

There is no physical NV9647

just the virtual panel. This is a sample:

The NV9647 is a virtual panel featuring 30 function buttons (illuminated in various colors and
having 1 to 3 lines of text) and a small display having 4 lines of 22 characters. It can operate in X-
Y mode or in multi-destination (MD) mode. Operators can switch between modes at any time.
Up and down buttons allow you to scroll the display.

The NV9647V provides a tree-structured (or hierarchical) button layout. Configurers can define a
“tree” of buttons in such a way that each of the 30 buttons can either (1) execute a function or
(2) select a subtree (i.e., present an entirely new set of functions at a different level in the tree).
The tree, with its subtrees, is not limited in size.

(We use the term “button page” or “page” to mean the set of 30 button functions at any partic-
ular level in the tree.)

Configurers use ‘Navigate’ buttons to create new button pages (subtrees). During operation,
NV9647V users press such buttons to access different subtrees.

The panel can also display predefined button pages. For instance, a “category” button, when
pressed, will display one or more pages of sources or destinations through which the operator
may browse. A “menu” button presents a page of menu options.

Function Buttons

The NV9647V has 4 rows of LCD buttons

a total of 30 buttons. The buttons can display one of

seven colors dynamically: nominally red, green, blue, purple, amber, yellow, or grey.

Each LCD button has three operational levels: high tally, low tally, and off.

Some buttons functions are assigned by the system depending on the context. For example. the
panel software adds a “forward” button and a “back” button if there are more sources than
buttons on a category page.
