10. In the Setup Type dialog box, select the Upgrade from 5.0A option. Follow the

instructions on the screen to complete the installation process.

Note:

If you plan to run Exchange Integration, make note of the system-assigned

this password if you ever have to do troubleshooting in Exchange.

If you see the following dialog box, click the Continue Anyway button.

11. Complete the license registration process after software upgrade to activate your

licenses. The switching service may not function properly if the system upgrade
license is not registered. See “License Activation and Registration Procedures” on
page 27
.

Note:

During installation, a Windows user account with local administrator rights is
created automatically to run Altiware services. Do not delete or modify this
account. You may change the password through installation. The account
name is in the form:

(user name: AltiGen_<servername>)

Note:

Your AltiWare Administrator password will be reset to default “22222” after
upgrade.

Migrating from ACC 5.1 to ACM 5.1

To perform the migration from ACC 5.1 to ACM 5.1, follow the steps in the Readme on
your AltiWare 5.1 CD. These are the steps, in brief:
1. Back up the Database—Use the Backup and Restore Utility program to back up all

the configuration information to a different location, such as the network drive.

2. Shut Down the AltiGen Switching Service—You can shut down the AltiGen

related server services and the AltiWare Administrator application at the same time
from AltiWare Administrator: choose Services > Shutdown All Services.

3. Make sure you have prepared for installation as described on page 23.
4. Install the system key on the parallel port.

Caution!

Do not connect the system key to any AltiGen board as damage may occur
to the board or the system key.
