Appendix A: BIOS Set-up

Security

Administrator Password
Sets password to enter and change settings in BIOS. Setting only
this password will not require a password to be entered in order
to boot the system, but a password will be required to enter the
BIOS.

User Password
Sets password to allow the system to boot. If no Administrator
password is set, user will be allowed to enter BIOS without being
required to enter an additional password.

Secure Boot menu
Enters screen that allows user to enable or disable secure boot.

Set Administrator Password

If ONLY the Administrator’s password is set,
then this only limits access to Setup and is
only asked for when entering Setup
If ONLY the User’s password is set, then this
is a power on password and must be entered to
boot or enter Setup. In Setup the User will
have Administrator rights.
