Allow Chains:

This toggle is used if you want to let the Brick Brain play consecutive shows which are tightly chained

together (by having the ÔIMMEDIATEÕ flag set in the showsÕ configuration), even when the LOOPING
MODE
is off. This should be set if you are building longer shows out of a number of shorter shows, and
you donÕt want the Brick Brain to stop right between any two segments if it receives a ÔSTOP AT ENDÕ com-
mand.

Baud Rate:

All cards in the system must be set to the same baud rate. The default speed is 9600 baud. This

command doesn't take effect until you enter the eXit command. The serial port on each Brick Brain can
support any of the following baud rates:

1)

110

2)

150

3)

300

4)

600

5)

1200

6)

2400

7)

4800

8)

9600

(default value)

9)

19,200

10) 48,000
11) 96,000

Early Starts:

The user has the choice of what each Brick Brain does when it is still playing a show and receives a

new 'start' or 'LOOP' command. The options are:

1)

DO NOTHING.

2)

JUMP FORWARD to the next show.

3)

JUMP BACKWARDS to the start of the current show.

4)

BANK START so that it won't be acted upon until the current show finishes. Show requests will
be banked up to 11 requests deep. Starts can be banked up to 256 deep.

The JUMP FORWARD and JUMP BACKWARDS commands have the lowest priority of all possible show

requests. Any serial port or 1/4 J6 Port show request will take priority over these.

More.....:

This toggle leads you to the screen which is used to set up shows and the strings sent to the serial

port. Details on this can be found in the next section of this manual.

number of times each second which the Smart Brick System will update all of the outputs with new data.

Valid frame rates for SMPTE synchronized shows are 12, 15, 24, 25, and 30 frames per second.
Valid frame rates for LaserDisk synchronized shows are 15, 25, and 30 frames per second.
