Brick Start:

This command is used to select where in the memory of the Smart Bricks the show will start. Valid en-

tries are made in 5 decimal numbers (yes, you must enter all five digits), ranging from 00000 to 65535.
If you are using a 16K Smart Brick, the upper limit should be below 16,383

If you are setting up a LaserDisk show, this line will also show you the Smart Brick Ôend frameÕ for the

show . Because the EEprom storage space which is used for the Smart Brick ÔEnd FrameÕ in all the other
time codes is used for storing the location on the LaserDisk where the show is found, the Brick Brain gets
the Ôend frameÕ for this show by looking where the next show starts, and then subtracting one frame. As
an example:

Show 25 is a LaserDisk show which starts at 10000 frames into the Smart Bricks.
Show 26 is a show which starts at 20000 frames into the Smart Bricks (any time code used

for show 26).

This means that the Ôend frameÕ is 19999 for show 25.

Brick End (non-LaserDisk shows only):

This command is used to select where in the memory of the Smart Brick the show will end if using

SMPTE, Internal or external clocking. Valid entries are made in 5 decimal numbers (yes, you must enter
all five digits), ranging from 00000 to 65535. If you are using a 16K Smart Brick, the upper limit should be
below 16,383.

ÒdÓ

LaserDisk Start (LaserDisk shows only):

This command is used to select where on the LaserDisk the show is actually found. Valid entries are

made in 5 decimal numbers (yes, you must enter all five digits), ranging from 00000 to 65535 (although
Constant Angular Velocity (CAV) LaserDisks support a maximum 54,000 frames per side). At the start of a
show, the special string character Ф01Х will tell the Brick Brain to start the LaserDisk player (if needed) and
search it for this frame number.

¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥

ÒeÓ

Start String:

This command is used to select which string will be sent at the start of a show. Although these strings

are generally used when you are running a LaserDisk show, you can send them at the start of any type
of show if you so desire. They can also be used to control other types of serially controlled devices other
than LaserDisk players. If an entry of 0 is entered for the start string, no string will be sent at the start of
this show. Valid numbers for accessing the strings are from one through seven. Strings eight and nine
can only be accessed by running through from the preceding strings. See the section on string setups
for additional details on strings and their habits.

¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥

End String:

This command is used to select which string will be sent at the end of a show. Although these strings

are generally used when you are running a LaserDisk show, you can send them at the end of any type
of show if you so desire. They can also be used to control other types of serially controlled devices other
than LaserDisk players. If an entry of 0 is entered for the end string, no string will be sent at the end of
this show. Valid numbers for accessing the strings are from one through seven. Strings eight and nine
can only be accessed by running through from the preceding strings. See the section on string setups
for additional details on strings and their habits.
