Download Configuration Eprom:

This command is used to download an Intel HEX image of the current configuration of the Rack

Smart Brick Brain. This can be burnt into a 27C256 Eprom using any commercial Eprom programmer. It
then can be used to replace the normal 62256LP configuration RAM on the Rack Smart Brick Brain. By
doing this you can make your configuration virtually indestructible.

The number of text characters that will be sent to your computer by this command must be exactly

92,173 bytes. You will need to burn this Hex file into an Eprom and before installing it:

1)

Remove the jumper plug that shorts between JP-1 pin #1 to #2.

2)

Move this jumper plug to JP-1 pin #2 to #3.

3)

Cut the trace between pins #1 and #2 on JP3 (this is on the back of the PC board).

4)

Cut the trace between pins #1 and #2 on JP4 (also on the back of the PC board).

5)

Solder a jumper from pin #2 to #3 on JP3.

6)

Solder a jumper from pin #2 to #3 on JP4.

Respond to Group:

Any Smart Brick Brain or Digital Audio Repeater can be configured to respond to one of sixteen possi-

ble ÔgroupÕ commands issued through the serial port. This allows you to start several devices with only a
single command. This menu selection is used to set which group this card will respond to. The allowable
range for this entry is 09, A-F.

Set Clock:

This command is used to set the real time clock on the Rack Smart Brick Brain. If you select

ÔAutomatic Daylight Savings TimeÕ, then the clock will automatically ÔSpring forwardÕ on the first Sunday in
April (at 2:00 AM) and ÔFall backÕ on the last Sunday in October (again at 2:00 AM). If automatic Daylight
Savings Time is enabled, the time will be preceded by ÔDSTÕ during the summer months.

InfraRed Mode:

This toggle turns on a special serial port mode on the Rack Smart Brick Brain which allows it to be

used with the InfraRed Transmitter and Receiver. The IR Remote is typically used to trigger an animation
or sound system mounted on a vehicle, turntable, or other installation where wires canÕt be used. All seri-
al port commands except for ÔmÕ (enter setup mode) are disabled when this toggle is ON.
