'PB' INPUT

This will probably happen only on power-up.

The commands have the following effects:

Reset:

This command only has any effect when running an externally or internally clocked show,

or during a countdown between shows. When running an internally or externally clocked
show, this command causes the frame counters to be reset back to the start of the show.
During countdowns, this command causes a new countdown delay to be started based on
the current thumbwheel switch settings.

+ Frame:

This command enables an input to advance frames on either the rising or falling (or both)

edges of an input when running an externally clocked show. During all other types of shows,
this command has no effect.

Start:

This command causes the Brick Brain to start playing the next show in line. At the end of

the show, the Brick Brain will stop unless the show which is played has the IMMEDIATE CHAIN
FLAG
set and the ALLOW CHAINS flag is also on. Under those circumstances, it will continue to
play shows until those conditions are not met.

If the ÔLOOPING SHOWSÕ flag is set, sending any type of ÔSTARTÕ command to the Brick Brain

will reset this flag.

Loop:

This command acts much like a START command, except that it also sets the ÔLOOPING

SHOWSÕ flag. With the this flag set, it is possible to set a sequence of shows playing in any
order. The shows can be played with no delay or with a preset delay between each. Since the
ÔnextÕ show can be any show you ask for, one show can be played over and over again, or
you can set up a sequence of shows which will be repeated until the Brick Brain is told to stop.

When the ÔLOOPING SHOWSÕ flag set, the Brick Brain will check to see if the ÔIMMEDIATE

CHAINÕ or ÔDELAYÕ flags are set when it has finished playing a show. If the show has a the ÔIM-
MEDIATE CHAIN
Õ flag set, then it will immediately start playing the ÔnextÕ show, which you can
set to be any show in the system. If the ÔDELAYÕ flag is set, then the Brick Brain will check to see
if the thumbwheel switch on its front is set to anything other than 0. If it is, then it will then start
this new delay countdown. At the end of the countdown, whatever ÔCountdown endÕ actions
are set will take place just as though a switch closure input had just happened. In most cases
this will be another LOOP command, which will then start the next show. At the end of that
show, the whole process will then start over.

Stop:

This command will stop any show which is playing immediately and unconditionally.

Stop at End:

This command resets the ÔLOOPING SHOWSÕ flag. This means that the shows will stop play-

ing at the normal end of show and wonÕt start a new countdown under any circumstances,
and wonÕt chain unless the ALLOW CHAINS flag is set and there is a request for an IMMEDIATE
CHAIN
at the end of the current show.

Tape Deck:

These allow you to trigger the START, STOP or REWIND relay outputs from one of the exter-

nal inputs or end of countdown.
