- Rack Smart Brick Brain Show Menu -

This screen is entered through the MORE command from any other screen. It is used to set up the

255 possible shows which a Smart Brick System can control. There are 255 possible shows, valid entries
are from 1 to 255 (01H to FFH). Selections through the serial port and 1/4 J6 port are in Hexadecimal bi-
nary numbers. If you are using decimal numbering when setting up shows, you can use the chart at the
end of this manual to translate these to Hexadecimal values.

When configuring SMPTE shows, the hour byte is used to select the shows. Since these actually come

from the SMPTE ÔhoursÕ, and this is a BCD number, valid decimal show numbers for SMPTE shows are:

01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36

The Hexadecimal equivalents for these show numbers are:

01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24

Show number 00 is invalid for a Smart Brick Brain, but it is valid as a SMPTE hour number. For this rea-

son show number 36 (24h) is actually selected when the Brick Brain gets a SMPTE ÔhourÕ of 00. An error
message will be displayed if the Rack Smart Brick Brain receives a SMPTE hour which refers to a show that
is not configured for SMPTE.

Entering this screen will stop any LaserDisk clocked show which is currently running, and keep any

new ones from being started.

As a convenience, the Rack Smart Brick Brain calculates the ÔtimeÕ equivalents for many of the in-

puts. It also calculates the show length by subtracting the show start from the show end. All entries are
made in decimal or Hexadecimal values, depending on the setting on the main menu.
