4) Apply approximately 1/3 of the maximum load, which is to be placed on

the bolt under actual working conditions.

5) Measure and record the Ultrasonic Length at Load 1 by pressing the

ENTER key. The Digits Edit Box will be displayed.

Note: Load 1 should be stored in column B.

6) Enter the

Known Load value by pressing the UP and DOWN arrow

keys to scroll the highlighted value.

7) Press the

LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to scroll the digit locations.

8) Repeat steps

6 & 7 until the Known Load value is correctly displayed.

9) Press the

OK key to store the Known Load and return to the

measurement screen, or

ESC to cancel entering the Known Load.

10) Increase the applied load to approximately 2/3 of the maximum load,

which is to be placed on the bolt under actual working conditions.

11) Measure and record the Ultrasonic Length at Load 2 by pressing the

ENTER key. The Digits Edit Box will be displayed.

Note: Load 2 should be stored in column C.

12) Enter the

Known Load value by pressing the UP and DOWN arrow

keys to scroll the highlighted value.

13) Press the

LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to scroll the digit locations.

14) Repeat steps

8 & 9 until the Known Load value is correctly displayed.

15) Press the

OK key to store the Known Load and return to the

measurement screen, or

ESC to cancel entering the Known Load.

16) Increase the applied load to approximately the maximum load, which is

to be placed on the bolt under actual working conditions.
