the position of the resolver/encoder assembly. This assembly must be physically rotated until the display
indicates as close to 0 degrees as possible (resolver angles within the regions 0-10 degrees or 350-359
degrees are allowed). When the resolver is within the allowable limit, use the SET ZERO softkey to set
the offset.

Step 6 - Set the engagement time and motion parameters.
Exit back to the Press Control screen, switch the Program/Run switch to RUN, and select SINGLE
STROKE mode. Operate the press and note the actual clutch engagement time versus the maximum limit.
If the press stops due to errors "MOTION DID NOT START" or "MOTION STOPPED" the following
parameters must be set for the machine’s characteristics (these are programmed from the Machine
Parameters configuration menu):

1.

Minimum Strokes/Minute

2.

Motion Filter

3.

Clutch Engagement Time

If the press stops due to the error "VEL > 2 x HI RANGE", the crankshaft velocity exceeds two times the
present highest operating speed range. This parameter is the right most speed setting in the Top Stop
Calibration menu.

Step 7 - Set the top stop position.
Refer to the Section 5.1 on the Top Stop Calibration configuration menu for variable or single speed
machines.

Step 8 - Set the brake monitor.

Step 9 - Set TIMED INCH mode. (If this mode is provided).
Select the TIMED INCH mode, and go to the Machine Parameters configuration menu. Adjustments may
have to be made to the point at which TIMED INCH begins in the downstroke (parameter called Begin
Timed Inch) or to the pulse on duration (parameter called Timed Inch Pulse).
