The displayed item can change when the press stroking mode is changed. The user can chose four items that
are to be displayed in Setup modes, such as Inch and Timed Inch, and four items that are to be displayed in
Production modes, such as Single Stroke and Continuous.

The displayed items can be selected by positioning the cursor into the area that is to be changed and
depressing the CHANGE SETTING softkey. A menu of items will appear on the screen. Only items that
are not currently selected will appear. Select the item to be displayed and then press the ENT key.

Section 5.4.2 Time and Date

This control contains a real time clock. To set the time and date, position the cursor over the value that
requires change, depress the CHANGE NUMBER softkey, enter the new value using the numeric keypad,
and press the ENT key.

Section 5.4.3 Rod Length and Stroke Length

The rod length and stroke length are used to calculate the distance from the bottom of the stroke. These
items can be displayed and entered in either inches of millimeters.

To change the units for inches to millimeters or from millimeters to inches, position the cursor over the
Rod/Stroke Units and the depress the CHANGE SETTING softkey.

The rod length is the length of the connection between the center of the crankshaft and the slide connection
point. Values between 000.000 and 384.000 inches (0.00 and 9753.60 millimeters) may be entered. To enter
the rod length, position the cursor over the Rod Length, depress the CHANGE NUMBER softkey, enter the
new value using the numeric keypad, and press the ENT key.

The stroke length is the total linear travel of the press slide from top to bottom. The stroke length of the
press must be entered when the OmniLink 5000 control is installed on the press. Values between 0.000 and
384.000 inches (0.00 and 9753.60 millimeters) may be entered. To enter the stroke length, position the
cursor over the Stroke Length, depress the CHANGE NUMBER softkey, enter the new value using the
numeric keypad, and press the ENT key.

Section 5.4.4 Operator Terminal Type and Default Language

The Operator Terminal Type for the control described in this manual should read, “Link Standard” or “Link
High Speed.” Later versions of the OmniLink control will automatically detect the control type. Earlier
versions of the OmniLink control will require that the correct type be entered. The Operator Terminal Type
is entered by pressing the CHANGE TYPE softkey and selecting the correct type.

The Default Language setting selects the screen language that will appear when the system powers up. The
Default Language can be changed by pressing the CHANGE TYPE softkey and selecting the desired
language.
