4 Network Applications
X-Ring+ Application 4.1
The industrial switch supports the X-Ring protocol that can help a system recover from network
connection failure within 10ms, making it more reliable. The X-Ring algorithm is similar to
Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and Rapid STP (RSTP) algorithms but is quicker at recovering from
a failure than STP/RSTP. The figure below is a sample of X-Ring application.
The X-Ring+ is supposed to recover from a connection failure within
10ms when the amount of the connected devices in the X-Ring
group is less than 50.
