Coupling Ring Application

As the illustration shows below, users can employ X-Ring groups to form a coupling ring for

redundant backup. It can ensure that transmissions between X-Ring groups not to fail. The

following figure is an example of a coupling ring application.

Dual Homing Application

4.3

The Dual Homing function is designed to prevent connection loss between the particular X-Ring

group and an upper level/core switch. Assign one port, (and only one), to be the Dual Homing

port that is the backup port in each single X-Ring group. The Dual Homing function only works

when the X-Ring function is active.
