Configuring LDP session parameters

This task configures the following LDP session parameters:

Keepalive hold time and Keepalive interval.

LDP transport address—IP address for establishing TCP connections.

LDP uses Basic Discovery and Extended Discovery mechanisms to discovery LDP peers and establish LDP

sessions with them.
When you configure LDP session parameters, follow these guidelines:

The configured LDP transport address must be the IP address of an up interface on the device.
Otherwise, no LDP session can be established.

Make sure the LDP transport addresses of the local and peer LSRs can reach each other. Otherwise,
no TCP connection can be established.

15 seconds.

Configure the LDP transport
address.

mpls ldp transport-address

{ ip-address | interface }

By default, the LDP transport
address is the LSR ID of the local
device if the interface where you

want to establish an LDP session

belongs to the public network. If
the interface belongs to a VPN, the

LDP transport address is the

primary IP address of the interface.
If the interface where you want to

establish an LDP session is bound
to a VPN instance, the interface

with the IP address specified with

this command must be bound to the
same VPN instance.
