Chapter 5:
Probes
Measurements are conducted using crosshairs or (optional) optical edge detection. In either case, point
entry can be manual or automatic. In addition, part probing can be entirely manual or assisted by programs
that are prepared by the user.
Crosshair and edge detection probes are described in this chapter. Edge detector setup and calibration
is also described in this chapter with references to material in Chapter 10: Setup. The measurement,
