3.2.7.2 +A8I: - CI Signal Indication
This indication is issued by an answering modem, if +A8E,<v8a>

≠ 0, to indicate detection of a V.8 CI signal, and report the

recovered Call Function octet(s).

Indication Syntax

+A8I:<v8cf><CR>

Defined Values

<v8cf>

A hexadecimal code octet representation of those Call Function octet(s). +A8I:0 indicates that the
modem timed out waiting for CI.

Example

+A8I:0

The modem timed out waiting for CI.

Synchronous Access Mode Commands

Three commands support Synchronous Access Mode:

+ES

Enables and disables Synchronous Access Mode in the client or central site modem (see 3.2.5.1)

+ESA

Configures the operation of the Synchronous Access Submode

+ITF

Selects Transmit Flow Control Thresholds

Enabling Synchronous Access Mode enables the use of the 8-bit command characters defined in Table 9/V.80 of the Draft
ITU-T Recommendation V.80 (DATA COMMUNICATION OVER THE TELEPHONE NETWORK; In-Band DCE Control and
Synchronous Data Modes for Asynchronous DTE).
