The PTZ controls within the recorder allow you to control PTZ cameras without accessing them directly.
This can increase the usefulness of your recorded video. Using the PTZ controls, you can create
custom preset configurations that can continuously sweep across large areas.

Note

These instructions are for use with
Analog PTZ cameras only. For IP
PTZ cameras, please refer to the
PTZ Camera Setup section of this
manual.

Note

PTZ setup and control is only
available for supported video
encoders with a PTZ RS-485 pass-
through.

Basic PTZ Configuration

1.

On the Live screen, click

Setup

, and

then click

PTZ Setup

.

2.

Select a PTZ-enabled camera from the

Select Channel

list.

3.

Select

Enable Pan Tilt Connection

.

4.

Click

Select Protocol

and select the appropriate protocol for your PTZ camera. For information on

the protocol used by your PTZ camera, refer to your camera manual.

5.

Set the appropriate

Port

,

Baud Rate

,

Parity

,

Data Bits

, and

Stop Bits

. These settings must match

those of your PTZ camera. For more information, refer to your camera manual.

6.

Click

Apply

to save your settings.
