Using Diagnostics

The diagnostics feature executes a series of test of your system software and hardware
connections. Use this feature when working with your ISP to troubleshoot problems.
Follow these instructions to begin the diagnostics program:

1.

Log into Configuration Manager, click the Admin tab, and
then click Diagnostics in the task bar.

Figure 74 shows the Diagnostics page.

2.

From the Virtual Circuits drop-down list, select the name of
the ATM interface currently defined on your system. (In most
cases, this will be the default, atm-0. See Configuring the
ATM VC for a explanation of ATM interfaces.)

3. Click

.

The diagnostics utility will run a series of test to check whether the device's connections are
up and working. This takes only a few seconds and the results for each test are displayed
on screen. A test may be skipped if the program determines that no suitable interface is
configured on which to run the test.
You can click

Help

to display an explanation of each test. Work with your ISP to interpret

the results of the diagnostic tests.
