5 Managing resources

Use the Resource Management module to manage the following devices:

Lync Server—Server running the Microsoft Lync Server software.

PSTN Gateway—Gateway that translates signaling and media between Lync calls and the PSTN
network.

Lync Endpoint—Endpoint running the Microsoft Lync client software.

Managing Lync servers

Microsoft Lync Server provides instant messaging and presence services. UCHM allows operators to do
the following:

Centrally manage the physical Lync servers

Monitor and evaluate the Lync Server application and traffic

Accessing the Lync server list page

Click the Service tab.

From the navigation tree, select UC Health Manager > Resource Management > Lync Servers.
The Lync Servers page displays all Lync servers and includes the following parameters:

Status—Alarm status of the Lync server:

Critical

Device Name—Name of the Lync server.

Site Name—Name of the site to which the Lync server belongs.

Role—Role of the Lync server:
