Replacing the Printhead Harness Assembly (830162-00)
Refer to Drawing 830119-XX
Estimated Repair Time: 30 minutes.
Note: The Printhead Harness Assembly includes the following cables: Data and Power Bus
cables for the Printhead, Cooling Fan, Ribbon Sensor Board Assembly and the Headlift
Sensor Switch.
Steps Procedure

Caution: Turn off the Printer and unplug the power cord from the
Printer.

Open the Upper Imaging Assembly.

Unscrew the two Thumbscrews (130887).
4
Remove the Head Cover Plate (820253).
5
Raise the tip of the Head Spring (810214) about ¼ -inch above the Printhead
Assembly (820199).

Remove the spacer from the top of the Printhead Assembly.

Grasp the two plastic forks on each side of the Printhead Assembly, pivot them
upward and release the Head Spring.

Disconnect the two cables from the printhead.

Loosen the top two corner screws (130987) found just behind the top edge of
the Rear Cover.

Close the Upper Imaging Assembly.

Remove the screw (130987) by the Card Exit Ramp.

Remove the Rear Cover.
13
Remove the two screws (130971) that secure the Print Circuit Board to the two
Standoff screws (140047).
14
Remove the screws that hold the Main Board Brackets in place.
