DIAGNOSTICS
The following messages may indicate a failure of a component. If the
message is temporary, the cause may be some other electrical problem
causing a glitch and no action is necessary. If the message does not go
away, after cycling the power for example, return your instrument to an
authorized service representative.
•
[MAIN CAL] or [OPTN CAL]
Main or Option board factory calibration constants are missing or bad.
•
[DB CHKSUM]
Database checksum error. Instrument could be operating on bad data.
•
[ADC1 TIM] or [ADC2 TIM]
Indicates a timeout failure on the primary analog input 1 ASIC or the
remote set-point input 2 analog ASIC.
•
[ADC1 INI] or [ADC2 INI]
Indicates a “no initialization since power up” failure in the primary analog
input 1 ASIC or the remote set-point input 2 analog ASIC.
•
[ADC1 UND] or [ADC2 UND]
Indicates an under range or incomplete conversion condition in the
primary analog input 1 ASIC or the remote set-point input 2 analog ASIC.
•
[ADC1 OVR] or [ADC2 OVR]
Indicates an over range condition in the primary analog input 1 ASIC or
the remote set-point input 2 analog ASIC.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The list of symptoms shown in the troubleshooting chart below provides a
guide for isolating possible faults. Before concluding that a problem is caused
by a hardware or firmware fault, carefully check the following.
•
The control and input types in the BASE CFG MENU match the process
input being used and the type of control required.
•
All connectors in controller assembly are fully seated.
•
Power and I/O wiring connections are correct. Refer to installation
section.
•
Controller is properly configured for the required application via setup in
the BASE CFG MENU, etc. Refer to setup section.
If none of the listed items is the source of the problem, refer to the table below
to isolate the most probable cause. If, after verifying that installation and setup
are correct, it is determined that a hardware or firmware fault exists, call for
service.
