a partnership between the computer and the handheld according to the
instructions that came with your handheld device. If a partnership is
already established between your handheld device and your computer, you
are already able to synchronize the data.

Note: If you are not able to set up a partnership between your PC and
your device, your computer may not be able to detect the device or your
device may not be a Windows Mobile Device Center Software supported
device.

Firewall Settings

Important:This is an advanced setting. Please consult your network
administrator before applying any firewall exceptions.

This section applies to computers that use an installed firewall or the Win-
dows firewall. When you use a firewall, the following applications must be
set as exceptions:

Internet Information Services (IIS)

SQL Server

ActiveSync Application

Remote Data Access (RDA) Components Setup

After you have enabled IIS, established PC-device communication, veri-
fied your firewall settings and installed Package Track on the worksta-
tion(s) that use it, you must determine and then set up your system for
Remote Data Access (RDA). Your workstation application database, and
your CE Batch portable application database use Remote Data Access to
communicate with each other. RDA includes several components, which
must be configured BEFORE you install the CE Batch application on the
handheld device. RDA includes the workstation application, Internet Infor-
mation Services (IIS), Microsoft ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device
