At the prompt for data storage, select In a New Table. Click Next.
In the next window, specify the details of each field being imported.
Click Next.
Select a primary key or let the wizard pick one.
In the last window, name the table and click Finish.
If existing data is going to be stored in several files, import each of the
files and repeat the procedure for each file.
7. After the data is imported into the Check In-Out system, you must build
and run several queries to transfer the imported data into the following
Check In-Out tables:
Site table (please refer to
“Query Import Data – Site Table” on page 387 )
Bin Location table (please refer to “Query Import Data – Bin Location
Table” on page 388 )
Inventory table (please refer to “Query Import Data – Inventory Table”
on page 389 )
TblCheck table (please refer to “Query Import Data – TblCheck Table”
on page 390 )
Inventory by Location table (please refer to “Query Import Data –
Inventory by Location Table” on page 391 )
Query Import
Data – Site
Table To transfer the imported site data into the Site table, create a select query
based on the imported data and then update the site table by running an
append query.
1. To run a select query based on the imported site data, click Create >
Other > Query Design.
2. A Show Table window appears; select the sites table that you created
when you imported your site data and then click the Add button. Click
Close to close the Show Table window.
3. The Query window appears. A table window appears in the Query win-
dow.
4. Drag the Site field to the cell in the first column of the Field row.
5. Click the Design tab and select Results > Run.
6. The query runs and the data in the query appears.
7. To update the Sites table with the new data, run an append query. To
run an append query, place the window in Design View.
8. Select Design > Append.
