• If rate limiting has been configured as a control response, it will discontinued

after the traffic rate has fallen beneath the lower threshold, and the release
timer has expired. Note that if a port has been shut down by a control
response, it will not be re-enabled by automatic traffic control. It can only be
manually re-enabled using the auto-traffic-control control-release
command (page 4-241).

Example

This example sets the clear threshold for automatic storm control for broadcast
traffic on port 1.

auto-traffic-control action

This command sets the control action to limit ingress traffic or shut down the
offending port. Use the no form to restore the default setting.

Syntax

auto-traffic-control {broadcast | multicast} action {rate-control | shutdown}
no auto-traffic-control {broadcast | multicast} action

broadcast - Specifies automatic storm control for broadcast traffic.
multicast - Specifies automatic storm control for multicast traffic.
rate-control - If a control response is triggered, the rate of ingress traffic is

limited based on the threshold configured by the auto-traffic-control
alarm-clear-threshold

ommand (page 4-239).

shutdown - If a control response is triggered, the port is administratively

disabled. A port disabled by automatic traffic control can only be manually
re-enabled.
